HNIC Playoff Tribute

A beautifully done playoff tribute by, Hockey Night in Canada….enjoy!

Anaheim Ducks are Stanley Cup Champs!!

Congrats Scottie…you battled all season long. You lead the team all season long. You got done what you came to California to do. I am proud of you. You earned the Conn Smythe. You ripped the Cup out of Bettman’s hand *and I love you even more for that* Thank you for all that you do, not only for the Ducks, but for the sport. You are one of the classiest guys in hockey.

Highlight of the night aside from seeing Scott rip the Cup out of Bettmans hand was seeing you…hand off the Cup to your brother. I love you for that.

Teemu seeing you cry with that Cup…was the most beautiful thing I have seen. Thank you for being you.

Like I said before…I love both of these teams. While I am so happy that the Ducks won a part of my heart hurts for the Sens. They have come so far and battled so hard but I do feel that the better team won.

CONGRATS DUCK FANS!!!

The List.

1. With Murray out of the running for GM…I am frustrated. Not at the organization, not at the team (because I love them and am a loyal fan), but at Mike Priest. I understand that this is a long process and I was praising him for taking time and not telling us much. But, now that Murray has dropped out it makes me nervous. I want to know what is going on…I have a right to know. I had every intention of buying season tickets…I had even called and gotten ticket information. But, until they find a GM…I’m not going to. We need a good General Manager. It is not an option…it is a necessity. I have faith in Hitchcock…all the faith in the world actually. I just hope he doesn’t let me down.

2. Congrats to the Anaheim Ducks for going up 3-1 against the Ottawa Senators. Game 4 seemed exciting although I just had to listen to most of it because I was at work and then when I got home the Directv thingy was acting funny. I am disappointed in Alfie because I think he got a little too frustrated at the end of the second shooting a puck at Scott Nieds. The Ducks got everything together and came out on top without one of their top defenseman…again.

3. I am really excited for Wednesday and I really do hope the Ducks close it out at home. It’d be a great thing for their fans, and it’d be a wonderful thing to rub in the face of Kings fans haha…just kidding. Although, I do plan on doing it to some of my friends who are Kings fans.

4. DELETED TO PROTECT THE INNOCENT

5. That’s all I really have…if anything else strikes me…I’ll add it on.

6. Bryan Berard was the FIRST Overall Pick of the First Round in the 1995 Draft…are you kidding me?! I guess I missed something with this guy. He made $2,500,000.00 this season. He played in 11 games for us this year. He missed the first 51 games with a back injury. Then he missed the last 16 games of the season because he hurt his back…again. He was a -4 and had 3 assists and 8 penalty minutes. WOW

I heart my team….

I suppose playoff time is here and I have to decide whether or not I am going to cheer for anyone. So here is the solution that I have come up with. I refuse to cheer for four teams. The first one being of course the Nashville Predators…because as a divisional rival I don’t like them…and my hatred runs deep. The second one is the Dallas Stars. This is a new one for me, with everything that has happened in the past little bit with the organization I have decided that they are a classless organization and that they don’t deserve to win the Stanley Cup and they certainly don’t deserve me to cheer for them. And, besides that Marty Turco seems to be a bit of a joke in the playoffs. Then there is the Pittsburgh Penguins…I know what you’re thinking…they have some of the biggest stars in the game right now why wouldn’t you want them to win. Well it’s simple…I hate Sidney Crosby. And, the last one is none other than the Buffalo Sabres. I don’t like them. So now that I have who, I won’t be cheering for I guess it comes down to whether or not I am going to hop on a bandwagon. Well, no. I refuse, I will cheer for whoever is doing good and who isn’t one of the aforementioned teams. So there ya go…I am hopelessly devoted to my team and will stay that way. Anyway, I wouldn’t mind the Sens winning…I heart Dany Heatley.

Happy Birthday….

To the Stanley Cup….115 YEARS OLD!!!

Fredrik Norrena > Pascal Leclaire

If I see that Leclaire is injured one more time this season…I am going to freak out. I have never seen the kid play an entire game…and well frankly I don’t know that I want to. Norrena has proven to be a more than confident goalie for us (yes I realize we lost 4-0 tonight…but I will get to that later) he just struggles on one on one situations…which he CAN improve on…BUT at least he’s not injured for the entire season! I seriously hate this. UGH!! Send Leclaire down and let’s keep Conklin up…maybe he can play more than 30 games for us.

Alright, I apologize for that but man I am so sick of hearing Leclaire is injured. Anyway, so I missed the game tonight due to the fact that I was at work doing nothing basically but had to stay anyway. But, when I got home I saw that my boys had been shut out AGAIN. Just for the record that’s the 13th time this season. Alright so when I got home I turned on the tv and our little announcer guys are there talking about the refs…so I simply shut off the tv and grabbed my computer and hopped on NHL.com to check out the score sheet…and well what I saw were a lot of penalties for my Jackets…a total of 14 to be exact and let me break these down for ya…there were 5 roughing calls…3 hooking calls…2 fighting majors…and a 10 minute misconduct along with a few other ones. We gave up 2 power play goals…and 2 even strength goals. Norrena stopped 24 of the 28 shots he faced. But, I don’t blame him for this loss at all because to put it quite frankly…you don’t win hockey games if you don’t get the puck to the net. I am not sure how of the quality of chances we got…but I’m sure we made Roloson look a heck of a lot better than he actually is. Anyway, since I didn’t watch the game I can’t really talk too much about it…but I found it really interesting the penalties we took tonight…we’re not one of these rough and tumble teams.

On a happier note…the Preds lost tonight…and Forsberg still has yet to record a point down there…he even got a chance to shoot in the shootout and he was stopped…for some reason this makes me happy. And, it’s not because I don’t like Forsberg…because I agree with everyone he is a great player…I have seen all his highlight videos on youtube haha and I am impressed however I hate the Preds so much and do not want them to win the Cup this year…so whenever they struggle I am happy. That’s all for the night!

Why the Preds, Peter…why?!

Anyone who knows me…or who reads this blog knows how much I hate the Preds. So it shouldn’t come as a shock to you that I’m not a fan of this trade one bit. Granted that yes in future years it will help the Flyers…and having Forsberg on their line up will help the Preds. I really feel bad for the Flyers team as a whole though. They lost their captain…pretty much the heart and soul of their team. (I say that because the Flyers have yet to win a game without Peter Forsberg in the line up) I feel bad for the fans. I heard a trade rumor that Adam Foote could leave Columbus and I was just heartbroken. The guy on the ice that wears the C wears it for a reason. He is the leader. Congrats to Nashville on the trade…however I think they gave up too much…Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a FIRST round draft pick, and a third round draft pick. Seems like a little much for a rental player…who you have no guarantee that the man is playing at his full potential. They are throwing it all in there. If they don’t get it this year, Nashville will have to start rebuilding I think….and who wants to do that?! Anyway, its late…I gotta go to bed…night all.

Spector’s Opinion

Ok my Stanley Cup predictions

I just thought I would put on here who I think is going to be in the Stanley Cup Finals…I think it’s going to be the New Jersey Devils and the San Jose Sharks….with the Sharks winning it in game 7….there ya go…that’s all really…I just wanted to put it down so if it happens I can be like…told ya so haha….I really need to write on here but I am tired and have to work tommorow. Gnight all!
