Predictions, Predictions, Predictions

A day late…but that’s ok. Here are my predictions for this round of the playoffs!

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Buffalo and NY Rangers

I’m going to take Rangers in 7. Buffalo is full of fast little guys…and I think that the Rangers are going to be able to pick Buffalo apart. Now, last night I watched the game and if it hadn’t been for the Rangers parade to the penalty box they would have won the game. Key players for the Buffalo Ryan Miller I guess in a way you always rely on your goalie…but if he is strong he will be able to pull them through this series. Key players for Rangers Jagr, Shanahan, and Avery Jagr for his amazing skills, Shanahan for his wonderful shot, and Avery for his Averyness…did you see how he got under EVERY single player on the Thrashers skin. Sheesh Go Rangers.

Ottawa Senators and NJ Devils

I’m picking New Jersey in 6 games. I really like both of these teams and really didn’t want to have to pick one of them but I guess I have to. Ottawa is deep really deep and they’re really good. Devils rely on Marty for their success and, if Marty is Marty then I really don’t think the Sens stand a chance. But, key players for Devils Obviously, Brodeur, and Parise like I said if Marty is on his game…good luck. And, Parise, that kid is young and amazing he has a ton of talent…and I am sure he will be amazing in this series. Now, key players for the Sens Heatly, Emery, and Spezza A lot of people are saying Heatley is suffering from an ankle injury and I believe it…but if these days off helped him…look out. Emery this guy is a great goalie and I am quite confident that he has what it takes…but I just can’t choose him over Marty (loyalty ya know). Then there is Spezza the guy makes some crazy passes that are beauties to watch…but in the last series he was hitting things and wasn’t taking any crap and was pretty good defensively as well. I don’t want either of these teams to go…but if one has to I choose the Sens to go.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Ducks and Canucks

Shoot Ducks in 5. Not only do the Ducks have the defense including TWO wonderful goaltenders, they also have the ability to score. I have a feeling this is going to be an easy series for the Ducks because Canucks just got off a 7 game series (when in reality they played 8 maybe even 9 games I would have to go back and look at all the OT’s. It was a long brutal series. Ducks got some rest and were able to heal from their bumps and bruises. They feel fresh…and looked great last night. Key players for the Canucks Luongo and The Sedins Luongo is such an elite goal tender but I think he is tired from the series and will break and that’s hard for me to say because I love the guy. The Sedin’s they need to step it up and if they do…the Canucks will have a shot I think. Key players for the Ducks…I mean honestly who isn’t a key player? Giggy or Bryz depending on who is in net, Penner, Getzlaf, Perry, the brothers Niedermayer, Pronger, Selanne, Kunitz, McDonald, Beauchemin, and really I will stop now This team is really that good. Sorry Canucks fans…Go Ducks.

Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks

There was a time in my life I was a Wings fan…that time is OVER!!!!!! Sharks are gonna take this series to the Wings and they will win it in 7 games. Sharks are an amazing team with a ton of talent. Wings are a good team with defense, offense, and goaltending, BUT, they don’t have the team toughness. Let’s face it Chelios is old…is he gonna fight. And, yes I know Bertuzzi slammed Dion to ice but I don’t know that he can take on the Sharks. Anyway, key players for Wings Hasek if Hasek doesn’t pull a groin and can control himself from being an idiot and exaggerating every little bump then the Wings will have a shot. Sharks key players Nabby, Guerin, Rivet, pretty much the entire team Sharks are a great team and I honestly think the better team all around. So Go Sharks!

Games for tonight

Well I am stuck at work and probably will be until about 8:30 or so. Here’s a list of the games for tonight.

Atlanta at Rangers
Ottawa at Pittsburgh (and if I hear one more thing about Crosby I will pull my hair up there are other people in this series too ya know)
Vancouver at Dallas
Anaheim at Wild **if the Ducks win tonight they will complete the series sweep of this team…best of luck tonight**
Detroit at Calgary Calgary better win they will be at home and they better step it up…and do it in a strong way. HG will be pissed if they don’t.

Teams in bold is who I am rooting for…if you take issue to it…I don’t care.

I’m grumpy and at work so leave me love.

Also, if anyone knows of anyone who is going to liveblog any of these games let me know. I don’t think I have it in me to do any of em…

Back to bloggin!

So I took the day off to get some things in my life back together and will be posting my blog about my with the press…and tonight I will be liveblogging the San Jose vs. Nashville game tonight…and if I get distracted I will liveblog that draws me in. And, I’m hoping it won’t be the Dallas vs. Vancouver game…it kept me up too late the other night haha. Alright….and sorry HG I was cheering for the Flames :(
Congrats to the Rangers, Sabres, Wings, and NEW JERSEY!! I heart Martin Brodeur!

Playoff Predictions

Since I don’t have time to write an actual post as my life is insanely crazy at the moment I will put up my playoff predictions so here we go.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

Detroit and Calgary

I’m going to have to say Calgary in 7. I see Calgary winning this only because of the division they were in…it’s a tough one.

Ducks and Wild

Ducks in 6. I love my Ducks team and the Ducks boys…not a doubt in my mind that they will win this series.

Vancouver and Dallas

I want so badly to go with Vancouver but I’m going to have to go with Dallas in 7.

San Jose and Nashville

Wow this is going to be quite the series. I’m going to go with San Jose in 7 only because they are a more complete team than the Preds.

EASTERN CONFERENCE

Buffalo and Islanders

Oh wow…a lot of people are predicting a sweep…but it’s going to be Buffalo in 6.

New Jersey and Tampa Bay

Shoot Devils in 5. The only possible way Tampa could win is if they stick both their goalies in net. (No offense Tampa Bay fans)

Rangers and Thrashers

Rangers in 7. Simply because I don’t like the Thrashers.

Penguins and Senators

Sens in 5. Crosby won’t be able to carry his team through the playoffs…sorry but he won’t. Pens don’t have the goalie or the defense to help. (Not to mention I HATE SIDNEY CROSBY!!!

Ok I am back…

Well sort of…I still have to go to work today but after that I will be posting…a giant post and venting about everything that’s gone on and that will be going on tonight…I will be liveblogging the Columbus game vs the Sharks tonight. But, this video is hilarious…it should entertain everyone haha.

Oh the Oilers…

Are they ever going to win again?! And not sure how many of you all watched the Anaheim Canucks game last night…but…I am still in shock…and I think I am going to go watch it again. (And just so you know Canucks had 4 hits…and the Ducks had 22) pretty crazy night.

The All Star Game

Are you freakin kidding me?! So I broke down and actually watched the first 2 periods of probably the most boring hockey I have ever seen…and trust me I have seen some pretty boring hockey. Well let’s start with Briere…he had 4 assists and one goal…pretty good for the little guy. Then there is Rick Nash…a personal favourite. With 2 goals…and 2 assists…proving to everyone that…yes there is hope for the Blue Jackets. The West Wins with a final score 12-9!!! Yeah that’s right the Western Conference whipped up on the seemingly offensive minded Eastern Conference. Thank God.

Luckily well for me at least Sidney Crosby did not get a point…not one point!! Thus proving…he sucks…and I hate him. Well he proved he sucks…I mean honestly there were 21 points scored…9 on his team…and he didn’t even have a piece of one. YAY!! I am one happy girl.

And one thing that shocked me the most was that my beloved Alexander Ovechkin only got one point. Thus proving that he is better than Crosby…as if I didn’t already know that. One thing I do want to say is that for the most part OV was on a line with Crosby. In an interview that Ovechkin did after the game he said that he had chances to score but wanted to make it fun for the fans so he would feed Crosby the puck…and well Crosby just couldn’t capitalize. I would have it enjoyed it more if Alex would have scored more. Oh well.

Another thing that shocked me was the play of Martin Brodeur…I went into the All Star thinking that he was the God of all goalies….yes even better than Roy(I don’t like him because he played for the Avs and gave Osgood a beating.) Brodeur had one amazing save…that was just beautiful but other than that I wasn’t too impressed…I was so excited to watch him in the All Star Game because aside from highlight videos I have never seen him in the net. I still am excited to see him on Friday in Tampa Bay. Hopefully, he will be in net and will dominate the Lightning.

Oh I am so excited to say that they had the goalie’s mic’d up and when they would whistle play down they would talk to them…they mic’d up Brodeur whose mic eventually was knocked off on a shot from….somebody…I don’t know who I’ll have to look. Then they mic’d up Turco which was great he seemed like a pretty fun guy. But I only got to see like 2 of the interviews they did with him…I did see one where he was still talking to them and the Eastern Conference players were heading up the ice right at him. I think they should do that every game it was quite fun.

What else is there to say? Mark Messier annoys me. I swear every time he got on the camera he had a negative comment. Saying that the players should just take the shots they can instead of passing. Well in case he forgot it’s a team sport. You can’t win games by one guy taking all the shots….at least our All Stars are selfless. I am aware that Mark Messier was a great player and really good for the game but seriously…can’t we get someone better to commentate on the game. Maybe…Gordie Howe…or WWE wrestler Edge (they interviewed him at the game…I’m sure I would have enjoyed that better than what he said. Oh and another Messier note…Crosby won the Messier Leadership award or whatever the hell it’s called. Good job Crosby…you got a bullshit award. What a joke. So far the winners are for October, Brendan Shanahan of the New York Rangers, Scott Niedermayer from the Anaheim Ducks, and now Crosby from the Penguins.

I’m not really sure what else I have to say in regards to the All Star Game itself. I haven’t really looked into the Young Stars game or the Skills competition but when I do I will write something about it…probably not much considering I didn’t watch it and will have only read articles about it.

Teams I give a crap about…

Columbus Blue Jackets

After an impressive victory over the Red Wings I have a feeling that the Blue Jackets are going to come out strong for the last half of the season…after the loss in Nashville it seems that Hitchcock is getting the guys to get their act together and start doing something with their talent…because as we all know they are full of talent. Unfortunately most of that talent has been on the IR during the first half of the season but luckily they’re coming back soon!!!
Things I do want to see more of for the Blue Jackets is Brule being able to play on the top line. The poor kid is on the 4th line and well basically there’s not a whole lot of talent on that one. I think he deserves a chance to show what he can do…and I think he deserves some time to get his confidence back. He busted his ass out there when Nash and Fedorov were out. I also want to see Rick Nash stepping it up…he proved in the All Star game he is such a talented player when he wants to be.

Vancouver Canucks

Yup I voted for Rory. I love the Canucks! I love Luongo. He is a freaking machine. He got hit in the neck with a puck. Spent the night in the hospital and played the next night. Then in the all star game his helmet got knocked off. And he got right back up and continued playing. I just couldn’t believe it. I’m so proud. I want them to go far in the playoffs. I don’t really have a lot for this team. I think that Chouinard needs to start doing better and scoring more. Naslund looks like this next half he is going to go back to the old Naslund that we all know and love.

Detroit Red Wings

Hasek is amazing. That guy is old and as of right now I believe is the best goalie in the league with a great goals against average. Chelios is still playing very well and you gotta respect that…the man is 44. I can’t say enough about these guys. They are a wonderfully defensively minded team.

Nashville Predators

No I don’t really care about this team at all really but I have been to 3 of their games and watch their games on tv quite a bit. And, well they’re my cousins’ favorite team so I mean I should talk about them. They currently are leading the Western Conference…which they are making a big deal about it saying that oh they caught up to Anaheim…well yeah they caught up with the Ducks. The Ducks are missing their #1 goalie, Jean-Sebastian Giguere, the #1 defensemen in the league right now, Chris Pronger, and on top of that they are missing Francious Bouchemin. They lost most of their defense…So that’s my opinion of it. All will be right in the world once again ond Anaheim will be sitting at the top of the Western Conference shortly.

Anaheim Ducks

Yea they are in a slump…yes they are not playing the way they should. But like I said before look at who they are missing. I pretty much said everything I wanted to say in my little rant about The Preds. But one thing I would like to see from this team is moving Penner onto a line with Getzlaf. It’s a line that would work and start putting up the points…and allow Penner (who is currently second of all rookies for goals scored) to make a decent hunt for the Calder trophy…even though everyone has pretty much given it to Malkin.
